Welcome to Mindful Tanning. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website at mindfultanning.com, your booking of appointments, and your receipt of services at our Torrance studio or through our mobile spray tanning service. By booking an appointment or using our Site, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

Mindful Tanning provides professional custom spray tanning services at our studio location (21250 Hawthorne Blvd, Studio 306, Torrance, CA 90503) and through mobile spray tanning appointments in clients' homes throughout the Los Angeles South Bay area and surrounding communities.

2. Booking & Appointments

Appointments may be booked online through our booking platform or by contacting us directly. By booking an appointment, you agree to provide accurate contact information and to be available at the scheduled time and location.

To help you time your glow for the moments that matter, we recommend the following:

  • Anytime, for a self-care and confidence boost
  • 1 to 2 days before an event
  • 2 to 3 days before your wedding or rehearsal
  • 2 days before a weekend trip
  • 1 day before your vacation

3. Rescheduling & Cancellations

Plans change, and we understand. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 48 hours in advance through your confirmation email or by logging into your account.

  • Changes made more than 48 hours in advance incur no fee.
  • Changes made within 48 hours incur a charge of 50% of the service fee.
  • Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged 100% of the service fee.
  • All fees will be collected from the card on file.

4. Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule or receive a shortened service at full price, at our discretion, so that we can honor the appointments booked after yours.

5. Mobile Appointment Requirements

For mobile (in-home) appointments, please have the following ready before your technician arrives:

  • A clear space of approximately 6 feet by 6 feet near an electrical outlet, so the tanning tent and equipment can be set up comfortably.
  • A private, well-lit, and well-ventilated area.
  • A pet-free and child-free spray area during the session, for safety and hygiene.

Travel fee: An additional travel fee may apply for locations beyond a 10-mile radius from the studio. If applicable, this fee will be collected at the time of service.

6. Preparing for Your Appointment

Proper preparation makes all the difference in your results. To get the most out of your glow:

  • Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment using a non-oil-based scrub. Fresh skin helps your glow last longer.
  • Shave or wax at least 12 hours beforehand to prevent uneven absorption.
  • Avoid lotions, oils, deodorant, or perfume on the day of your appointment. These act as a barrier to the tanning solution and can cause an uneven tan or white spots.
  • Do not use oil-based products, alpha hydroxy acids, or mineral oils before your appointment, as these accelerate skin exfoliation.
  • If you are scheduling manicures, pedicures, or waxing, we recommend booking those before your tanning session.
  • For laser hair removal, allow 2 weeks before or 5 days after your spray tan.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
  • We do not recommend receiving a spray tan while sunburnt or recovering from a sunburn.

7. What to Wear

During your session, you are welcome to tan nude, in underwear, or in swimwear, whichever makes you feel most comfortable. Your comfort and privacy come first.

Afterward, wear loose, dark clothing and sandals to avoid rubbing or smudging your fresh tan.

8. Feeling Unwell

If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, a fever, or have recently been exposed to COVID-19, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment. Your health and safety, and the health and safety of our other clients, are important to us.

9. Health, Skin & Safety Disclosures

For your safety and the best possible results, clients must disclose the following prior to their appointment:

  • Known allergies or sensitivities to skincare or cosmetic products
  • Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, open wounds, or recent sunburn
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding status
  • Any recent cosmetic or dermatological procedures, including waxing, chemical peels, and Botox

It is your responsibility to inform your tanning technician of any allergies, relevant medical history, or prior adverse reactions to self-tanning products or moisturizers.

Please be advised that a small percentage of individuals may find their skin does not react favorably to spray tanning. Some medications, such as birth control pills, hormone replacement medications, or antibiotics, may alter your tan. Please consult with your technician if you have any questions.

All ingredients in the product used are intended for cosmetic use and are generally regarded as safe. On occasion, an individual may be allergic to one or more ingredients in the spray tan solution. If this occurs, shower, discontinue use, and in the case of a severe reaction, contact a physician. You may ask to see the ingredients prior to application.

We reserve the right to decline or modify service if we believe it may pose a health or safety risk. A patch test is available upon request for first-time clients or those with sensitive skin.

We do not advise being sprayed for photographic sessions, modeling assignments, weddings, or similar events unless you have first had a trial spray tan.

Warning: This product does not contain a sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn.

10. Aftercare & Results

Your results depend heavily on how you care for your tan. Following your session, please:

  • Refrain from any activity that causes perspiration until after your first shower.
  • Avoid showering for at least 6 to 8 hours. Letting the solution stay on overnight without showering is recommended.
  • Avoid tight clothing, excessive perspiring, and leather seats, as some fabrics may be stained by the solution.
  • Keep your skin well moisturized, and avoid long baths, showers, and hot tubs. Salt water and chlorinated pools can also shorten the life of your tan.

Your spray tan should last 5 to 10 days depending on your skin type and how well you care for it. Results vary based on individual skin type, preparation, and aftercare. We are not responsible for uneven results caused by inadequate exfoliation, use of moisturizer or other products prior to the appointment, or failure to follow the aftercare instructions provided.

11. Clothing & Property

Spray tan solution may stain clothing, undergarments, jewelry, bedding, and furniture. Clients should wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to and from appointments and are responsible for protecting their own belongings. Mindful Tanning is not liable for staining or damage to clothing, fabric, or furniture resulting from spray tan solution.

12. Payment

  • Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
  • Packages and gift cards, where offered, are non-refundable and not transferable to another person.
  • We reserve the right to update our pricing at any time. The price confirmed at booking will be honored for that appointment.

13. Photo & Image Consent

By booking an appointment, you consent to Mindful Tanning taking before and after photos or video of your service for use in our marketing, including our website and social media accounts. Photos are taken in a manner that protects client privacy, such as cropping or angling to exclude identifying features, unless you provide explicit permission for full visibility. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let us know at the time of booking or at your appointment.

14. Client Waiver & Release of Liability

By booking and receiving services, you acknowledge that you have read the contents of this consent carefully and state that you are not aware of any medical condition, allergy, or other reason that would prohibit you from sunless tanning. You confirm that you have been given adequate instructions for the proper use of the sunless application, understand the risks involved, and use it at your own risk.

In consideration of spray tanning services performed by Evelyn Reyes / Mindful Tanning, you hereby waive, release, hold harmless, and forever discharge Evelyn Reyes / Mindful Tanning from all claims, demands, debts, contracts, expenses, causes of action, lawsuits, damages, and liabilities of every kind, whether known or unknown, arising from or related to your use of Evelyn Reyes / Mindful Tanning spray tanning services. You hereby assume any risks associated with the spray tanning services provided under this Agreement and Release, and agree to release the owners and operators from any damages you might incur from Mindful Tanning in-studio spray tanning and mobile spray tanning. This liability waiver and release extends to the business together with all owners, partners, and employees.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindful Tanning and its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or website, including skin reactions, dissatisfaction with tan results, or property damage, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

15. Website Use & Intellectual Property

All content on our Site, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of Mindful Tanning and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our written permission. You agree not to use our Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective Date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our Site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
